A powered system from Spacesaver can be programmed to automatically safeguard stored items, even when there is nobody around. Overhead lights can detect when someone is using an isle and turn on, and then turn off again when that isle is no longer in use. Storage can also be programmed to move completely together when not in use (like overnight), to minimize dust and light exposure. And even in the event of a fire, the isles can move themselves to pre-determined places to allow for maximum fire control.
